Good Morning Sunshine!

We woke up to sun streaming through our windows this morning. The white snow was reflecting a glare so bright that for a moment I thought it was summer time. Absolutely beautiful.

As you can see North Capitol is completely cleared. As are the highways around the city from what we've seen on TV.

And the snow trucks are still out, now working on the side streets.

Our alley is passable.

With all of that said though, most places are closed for the day (stores I'm not sure about, although I suspect they're looking for holiday shoppers are are open). GWU, AU, the Smithsonian, The National Gallery of Art, Regan National is closed until noon. Amtrak is on a delayed schedule. The subway is still not running above ground.

Mark is in the process of unearthing the car in preparation for our release from the house--and morning trek for coffee (STILL NO HALF AND HALF!)! It's been 24 hours and I'm starting to feel a little stir crazy.

We're excited to hit the shopping areas and to see other people. Our "Snowbama" day (which local TV weather casters have shared) has been wonderful but I'm ready to see the world again!
